How To Make Your Website Design User friendly

To make sure your website stands out from the other, (over 200 million), active websites you not only need to have an eye-catching design, speed, but you HAVE to be user friendly!

Many people keep their websites active with new blogs, informative content and are consistent in doing so. However if a visitor comes to your website, and can not easily navigate around, all that hard work is futile.

Why Are You Helping The Competition?

If a visitor is coming to your website and is having to search too hard and/or the information they are expecting to see is not obvious, that visitor will get bored and move on to the next result in the search engine. This is not only damaging to your business (lost Customer) but also has an impact on your SEO, not to mention you handing a potential client to your competitor!

Hate To Point Out The Obvious, But…..

Fully Responsive Mobile Compatible

According to Statista

in 2018, 52.2 percent of all website traffic worldwide was generated through mobile phones, up from 50.3 percent in the previous year.

And let’s face it that percentage is only going to increase!

Therefore it has never been more important to ensure that your website is user friendly on mobile, and displays perfectly keeping its eye-catching design.
How many people do you know that would go to a website on their mobile, and think… I can’t use this website on my mobile, lets fire up the laptop, and take a look there…………… exactly!

Make sure that during your design process you have a mobile user experience at the forefront.

Easy To Find Clear Navigation

Consider this….. Someone has found a link to your website, and are expecting to find relevant information, don’t make the information hard to find.

A visitor will not stick around to search through a confusing menu……. oops, there goes another potential client! Furthermore, if you have content information with internal links, make sure that those links are also relevant, and not just where you want the visitor to go. This is another classic way to annoy a visitor and lose them.

Your website should be all about a good user experience, ensuring that a visitor can go from page to page with ease, finding the exact information they require.

Keep menu’s uncluttered, keep page titles clear, and if you are unsure… get someone who is outside of your business to take a look. It might be very clear to you, as you designed it, and it’s your business, so always get it tested by others… and the more…..the merrier!

The Need For Speed

According to some reports…. a persons attention span averages eight seconds, so you need to make sure that your website is super quick. It is also worth noting that search engines such as Google also consider the speed of your website, therefore it is important from an SEO point of view. How long would you wait for a website to load… even if it is your own.

So we hate to point out the obvious, but it is not just about a great looking website, it’s about the visitor and their user experience. Get the user experience nailed, and you will soon see your ranking going up, and more customers coming in.
